Hello,I would like to know how do I set the drawer to open when the print report end of shift so money can be counted
The second question is how do I set when an item is added to order screen cannot be cancelled only modified, this is only for security purposes so servers cannot steal showing the amount of an item than cancelling order(pocketing cash) and no receipt required by the customer
Thanks

So I have been following "States" through with reference to this post:
The question I have is on installation my default States are as follows:
@emre article refers to a number of "Ticket States" as follows:
Default StatesOn first installation we crate some states by default.
•Entity States (Tables, Customers)◦State Name : Status◾New Orders
◾Available
◾Bill Requested•Ticket States ◦State Name : Status◾New
◾New Orders
◾Unpaid
◾Locked
◾Paid•Order States ◦State Name : Status◾New
◾Submitted◦State Name : GStatus◾Gift
◾VoidI can see the reference to Ticket States in "New Ticket Creating Rule" or "New Order Adding Rule" but I have no definitions for Ticket States such as "New Orders" or "New".
THEREFORE: Can someone please confirm:
Definitions as my pic above are used to apply colour states and other bits of data such as display format, show on.. and are not mandatory.

i recently discovered from tutorial that windows patch is more of hacking and is against license.
i have installed win 7 pro with the patch for one of my client using 2xclient on 3 tablets.
now the issue is i cant replace win 7 pro with server for them as i will be at loss and it had been installed for more than 7 months.
Pauln suggested to use other alternatives for RDP connections:
http://www.thinsoftinc.com/products.aspx43can i get some more information on this connection. like will i be able to use for one system only and will this be legal. will i still need 2xclient ?
or are there any other suggestions

@emre do you have a plain text list of all the actions? Ideally with their fields?
If not no sweat just though was worth the question.
Am going to try and find time to start a little bit of documentation and wanted to start with a list of actions and fields and try and give definitions of the action and the fields.
Just think it would be easier to start with a full list and bulk out rather than manually put list together and miss things.

Hi Guys,
Just wondering about Sales Report under Work period report. A table haven't settled their bill and Sales Report shows it as a sale, is that the way it should be?
I was under the impression that Sales Report should show sales when Payment have been made.
Can you guys point me to the proper Report for total Sales with payment made if that's not the case?
Thanks a bunch in advance!

With reference to the following tutorial:
I about to launch into tutorial and wondering if @QMcKay you would be kind enough to cast your "acute eye" (hey funny pun?
) over the tutorial to see if all methods are still relevant? I have reviewed briefly but not confident that if I am stuck on the implementation whether I need more panadol or V5 has faster and better implementations.
I would be happy to wait if things can be done better in V5 using the newer reference techniques. I will just move to Loyalty Points or Reservations or....

How do I set up VIP Member Discounts and Happy Hour Discounts and have them interact with each other so that VIP Members do not get Happy Hour Discounts on top of their VIP Discount? That is, how do I prevent double-discount for a VIP?
And how can I set this up so that it is all automatic; so that it doesn't require user interaction such as using Automation Command Buttons on the Ticket Level nor the Order-line Level?
This Tutorial will show you how to set this up and includes these features:
- Product-level Discounts for HH and VIP
- Discounts do not use a Price Definition; instead they use Custom Product Tags
- VIP Discount overrides HH Discount when you select a Customer who is marked as being a "VIP"
- Happy Hour Days/Times implemented without Triggers will come into effect when you want them to, based on Start/Stop Days and Times that you set
- supports VIP and/or HH discounts: choose to use only VIP or only HH, or use both at the same time
This is a fairly lengthy setup, and is somewhat complex, so be sure to double-check everything that you do, then triple-check it. Take comfort in knowing that if you are successful in setting this up, you will have learned about some most advanced and powerful features available in SambaPOS.

Use Batch Product Creation feature not to go crazy while creating products.
V5's Batch Product Creation feature allows importing products from formatted text data. That format is called YAML. It is human readable and easily editable with your favorite text editor.
- Name: Test Item 1 GroupCode: Test Items Barcode: 12345 Tag: Tag1 Portions: - Name: Pcs Price: 5 - Name: Pack Price: 10 Tags: - Name: Custom Tag 1 Value: Tag Value 1 - Name: Custom Tag 2 Value: Tag Value 2 - Name: Test Item 2 GroupCode: Test Items Barcode: 22222 Tag: Tag2 Portions: - Name: Pcs Price: 5 Tags: - Name: Promotion Value: VIP - Name: Item Type Value: Bar Item
Notepad++ supports YAML format so you can benefit from syntax highlighting, tree list navigation and auto completion features.
By 5.1.50 release we'll also support Product Export as YAML format so you can easily transfer items between setups. I'll add required Data Export template soon.

So I have always used this but I thought I would share it. Anyone that's ever been interested in capturing your computer screen for making a video might be interested. A great free program for doing this is Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 and Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 Screen Capture.
Great free program for easy screen capture and edit for YouTube uploads or whatever you may want to do with the videos.
I use this for my various video demonstrations in some of my Tutorials.
PS: No I am not trying to promote it I just thought it was useful for me and figured I would share the knowledge of it.
